BETT 2002
Scran has just completed another successful stint at BETT, the British Education Technology Show. From Tuesday 8th to Saturday 12th January, an enthusiastic band of Scran staff, from Education to Marketing, manned the stand at Olympia, which showcased Scran’s exceptional archive of over a million items of cultural and historical material.
Many thanks to the hundreds of people who visited the Scran stand. Our staff enjoyed talking with our many and varied visitors, from school teachers to university and college lecturers. The event was highly successful all round, with 15 LEA’s, comprising thousands of schools, taking up the offer of a free trial of the Scran library.
By far the most popular event, however, was the Scran whisky tasting on Friday. The Scran stand was quickly overtaken by a friendly horde of whisky ‘connoisseurs’ who drank their way through over 200 drams of whisky, as well as polishing off a delicious Black Bun. After an hour’s dedicated attention to the malt, not a drop remained in the Scran whisky cabinet - just the tonic after a week on one’s feet!
