Scran was recently commissioned by the Scottish Executive Tourism section to produce a website to commemorate the 700th Anniversary of the death of William Wallace.

The site includes sections telling the story of Wallace's life; his participation in the Wars of Independence; what is known about him and what is myth; places to visit associated with his story, as well as a full listing of events taking place this year to mark the anniversary. It also includes a competition "William Wallace, My Hero" for primary schoolchildren to enter along the theme of what Wallace would champion if he were alive today. The website can be found at

The site was officially launched on Friday the 13th May by Patricia Ferguson, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sports at St Clare's Primary School, Drumchapel, Glasgow.
