Dr Rob Milne
Scran was saddened by the news of the recent death of Dr Rob Milne. He died attempting to climb Mount Everest, and so complete his goal of climbing the seven highest peaks on all seven continents. He collapsed just 1200 feet short of the summit of the world's highest mountain.
Dr Milne contributed one of Scran's most popular projects: Project 279, Munro Summit Panoramas, which explores the landscapes of the Scottish Highlands using 15 QuickTime VR panoramas and 65 still images taken by hillwalkers and mountaineers. If you would like to view these images click here.
He also served on the Advisory Committee for NGfL Scotland.
We would like to express our condolences to his family and friends.
