Golfing Legend Dies

Severiano Ballesteros Sota (9 April 1957 – 7 May 2011)

Former World No. 1 golfer, Severiano 'Seve' Ballesteros Sota, has died at the age of 54. Spaniard, Seve, first came to attention in 1976 when he finished second at the British Open at the tender age of 19. He remained a leading figure in the sport for the next two decades, winning the British Open twice and The Masters three times between 1979 and 1988. He won the World Match Play Championship a record-breaking five times. And he helped the European Ryder Cup team to five wins as player and as captain. He is regarded by many as the greatest Spanish golfer of all time.
