Created by David Eaton, Lecturer in Art & Design, Central College of Commerce

What kind of resource is this?

click for resource view An interactive Flash movie which uses eight pictures by the Scottish Colourists Cadell, Fergusson and Peploe as a guide to using colour in design.

Each picture is accompanied by background information about the work together with further explanation of the particular colour range and how this might be applied to a design project. There is then a small design brief for learners to follow which provides an opportunity to experiment with some of the ideas under question.

Who was it designed for?

Points of interest:

This small project is well worth exploring for its elegant design, its interactive features which allow users to really explore and experiment with colour, and its well thought out activities, many of which involve learners in working away from the computer – a good example of how to integrate computer-based learning into the wider world.
