This project explores Glasgow City Library's collection of pre-1850 images of Glasgow. Many of the watercolours, maps and engravings are unique, and others are rare. Subject matter includes engravings made by Robert Paul and others for the Foulis Academy (1756-1770). Views and buildings depicted in the earliest histories and guide books of the city are included as well as sketches by Robert Carrick and drawings by John Knox.

[0137] North British Locomotive Company Collection
This project provides a selection of images from the photographic archive of the North British Locomotive Company and its constituent companies, deposited in the Mitchell Library. The records illustrate the engineering, social and industrial history of the City of Glasgow. The North British Locomotive Company also produced war materials such as tanks, guns and shells during both world wars. These are just some of the activities which are illustrated.

This project focuses on buildings of architectural merit that have been significant to the culture and history of Glasgow. The selection concentrates on buildings under threat of demolition or redevelopment. The project's aim is to create a resource to inform and aid students concerned with Glasgow's built environment and its effects on Scottish culture.

This project provides a unique interactive catalogue of the rich and important collection of architectural drawings and plans of Scottish architecture from the late 17th to mid 19th century. The prime sources are Vitruvius Scoticus, Theatrum Scotiae and the Baronial and Ecclesiastical Antiquities of Scotland.
