[1121] Place Work Folk : Images of Glasgow Royston

Thumbnail for project: Place Work Folk : Images of Glasgow RoystonPlace Work Folk: Our Legacy, Their Future was a PAS project that began in spring 2014 and was completed in spring 2015. Its purpose was to introduce young people to planning and placemaking, by looking particularly at how their own area’s heritage has led to the development of their local place. Through inter-generational interviews which the young people conducted and recorded, the project explored and shared the experience of older people who have been active in their communities. The goal of the project was to educate young people on the historical and cultural heritage of their area, as well as to inspire them to become ‘active citizens’. Meanwhile, the older people benefitted by being able to pass on their knowledge and feel valued for their contributions. The project was funded by an award administered through the National Heritage Lottery Fund. A number of images were taken and used as part of the project, and PAS have kindly licensed these to Scran for our subscribers to download and re-use.
