These rare documents form part of the India Papers collection, an extensive collection of official publications from British India, held by the National Library of Scotland. The digitisation of the medical history volumes was funded by awards from the Wellcome Trust and records the demands placed by both epidemic and endemic diseases on the colonial Indian state and its development of public health in the period from c.1850 to 1920. The reports in this collection reflect the state's efforts to study, understand and control diseases like cholera, plague, malaria and leprosy.

[1021] Lighthouses & Citadels
South Ayrshire combined lighthouses, museums, art, drama and oral history skills in an education initiative. School pupils visited Mull of Galloway Lighthouse, Kinnaird Head Museum of Scottish Lighthouses in Fraserburgh, the McKechnie Institute Ailsa Craig Exhibition and Ailsa Craig itself.
At the McKechnie pupils also interviewed former Light Keepers and their families, viewed the museum collections and learned about the end of the manned Light. The resulting oral histories are contained in this project.

[1017] The Gude Cause-2009 Suffragette March
On 10th October 2009, a group of dedicated volunteers commemorated and recreated the Suffrage march that had taken place in Edinburgh exactly 100 years earlier. In doing so, they drew attention to issues of inequality that still persist today. This selection of material from the march has been sourced from a number of photographers at the event, and offers a comprehensive overview of the day.
