[0932] John Nicolson Drawings of Caithness
John Nicolson [1843-1934] was a sculptor, artist and local historian based in Caithness, who assisted Sir Francis Tress Barry with the excavation of a range of prehistoric sites between 1890 and 1904. Nicolson illustrated many of the objects and features revealed by the excavations through sketches and watercolour drawings.
