This project provides a digital record of the contents of Lennoxlove House and other Hamilton family properties. The history of the Hamilton family is closely connected with major events in Scottish history, and the extent of the collection of family portraits is probably unique in Scotland. Significant items in this collection include Mary Queen of Scots' death mask, her ring and the famous casket which contained letters proving her complicity in Darnley's death.

This project provides material from the written anthology "Thistle at War" which provides an account of the Scottish experience of war, in the services and at home. Soldiers, sailors and airmen, nurses, wives and children give their own accounts of what they saw and what they felt. All aspects of war and its aftermath are gathered together in letters, diaries, poetry and memoirs, illustrated from the archives of the Scottish United Services Museum.
