Unfortunately we are currently unable to display the large version of images on SCRAN.
The smaller version can still be viewed on each record.

Geographical Search

The Geographical Search allows you to define a map area and then find related records on Scran. Just over 50% of records have been tagged.

Click on an area of the map to zoom in.

On the next screen:

  • Use compass points to move around.
  • Use the + and - to zoom or click the map.
  • To search Scran, put the cross on the map and click Go.
  • (How?) explains the selection tool.

Find Scran Records Related to a Place

Choose one option below. Some searches may take longer.
For postcodes use the format EH47 or EH47 8 for narrower searches. Mind the space.
Grid references should be in the 2-letter 6-digit format, e.g. NT 264 719.

You are using the free Scran service. You can search over 480,000 resource records but you will see thumbnail images with short titles only.
