The Roman Empire was very successful partly because the people of different countries began to feel Roman. People from anywhere in the Empire could hold important places in the army, or even become Emperor. Having such a large Empire meant that the Romans traded across many countries. Sometimes the goods from a country would be one of the main reasons the Romans invaded. Romans traded food, cloth, animals, jewellery and even slaves!
