Special craftsmen worked in the forts with the soldiers. Carpenters helped to build and repair wooden buildings. Stone masons helped with building too, they also made things like beautifully carved altars where the soldiers worshiped their gods. Smiths worked with metal to make weapons and armour like the helmet shown in this picture. |
